An Ode to the City

LUCKNOW

2024

Launched in October 2024, Lucknow stands as the most impressionable muse for Good Earth’s boutique in the City of Nawabs, and its different corners pay homage to the city’s architectural legacy.

The vision of the store comes to life through the creative collaboration of Good Earth’s Creative Director Anita Lal and Designer Adil Ahmad, a long-time brand friend who has been part of our journey’s many milestones, including the redesign of our Mumbai flagship in 2021.

The combination of green and ivory plays a central role in the store’s interior reflecting the signature colours of Lucknow.

The intricately carved shape of the Rumi Darwaza, reminiscent of the peacock’s train, inspires our boutique’s shelving niches, while the pointed arches in the boutique draw from Lucknow’s imambaras

Enhanced by mirror borders, each archway invites exploration and creates a seamless flow throughout the space.

Recreating the idea of Mughal paradise gardens, the boutique features a water fountain at its centre, inviting guests into a sensorial experience.

The Tastemaker Room

Christie’s x Good Earth

LONDON

2022

At the invitation of Christie’s,

Anita Lal curated vignettes featuring her

favourite lots from their spring 2022

auction, with Good Earth classics and

pieces from her own collections.

As a Tastemaker, selected for her

influence on global design, she brought

a new perspective to the auction.

The collaboration inspired compelling interior narratives that strike the perfect balance between historic craftsmanship and contemporary living.

Destination for Mindful Fashion Raghuvanshi Mills – Apparel Floor

MUMBAI

2022

“The idea was to celebrate the space and create something delicate, that facilitates movement and isn’t static.”

The transformation of a heritage building

into a modern apparel destination begins

with thoughtful design.

The soaring 16-ft ceiling, natural light, and

expansive column-less space set the foundation

for its current iteration. Dynamism and fluidity

are at the heart of this space. Curving rails with

sleek detailing are handcrafted in gleaming brass.

The meeting of traditional materials with

contemporary style echo Good Earth’s ethos of

bringing together the past with the present.

The Mirrored Pavilion

Raghuvanshi Mills – Ground Floor

MUMBAI

2021

The restoration of the Raghuvanshi Mills Flagship is a flight of fantasy that takes you across time and space.

The Tasting Room

Raghuvanshi Mills – First Floor

MUMBAI

2021

The Tasting Room returned to Good Earth’s Mumbai flagship store with a fresh Mediterranean menu as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration.

A peaceful haven amidst the bustle of the city, it’s a charming take on a traditional Persian café, with design inspirations from along the Silk Route.

With jewel-toned chenille details, marble tabletops and baroque chandeliers, The Tasting Room has been recreated in an all-new avatar by designer Adil Ahmad, and features a menu of fresh favourites by celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia.

Moonhouse Haveli

JODHPUR

2018

As a patron of Indian craft & culture and the JDH project, Good Earth founder and creative director Anita Lal assumed the renovation commission for the Moon House Haveli.

A collaboration with designer Rooshad Shroff transformed this heritage haveli into a modern-day Silk Route souk, full of glittering gifts and craft collectibles.

The charming boutique boasts a distinct style signature. Walls are adorned with elaborate murals featuring iconic motifs of clouds and forests, hand-painted by traditional Nathdwara Pichwai painters. The interior display mimics the form of a stepwell, connecting the ancient architecture to the modern store interior.

Make in India Pavilion

MUMBAI

2016

Good Earth was honoured with an invitation to style Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pavilion for Make in India Week, Mumbai.

The room was envisioned through the lens of Enchanted India, created in our signature style through the lens of traditional craft in a contemporary language.

The key design element was handblocked kalamkari textiles from our Zubeida collection, which was complemented with homegrown rajnigandha and desi gulab bouquets, and whimsical poetic couplets adorning the walls.

Rajmahal Palace RAAS

JAIPUR

2016

The Rajmahal Palace is a repository of glorious history. A royal renovation brought together storytellers passionate about traditions of culture. Good Earth’s design team along with Adil Ahmad restored 17 jewel-like rooms, four royal suites and the gift shop of this historic palace.

Inspired by elements of the City Palace and created with bold art-deco designs in vivid Rajasthani colors, we decorated Rajmahal Palace with 41 bespoke wallpapers, textiles and décor accessories that evoke the feeling of travelling tents of the desert bringing alive Jaipur’s legacy of surface patterning.

Inside Aiwan-E-Ahmad

Adil Ahmad is a connoisseur, an elusive romantic who draws beauty from melancholy, who dares to layer with abandon, and weaves memories with magic as if they’re warp and weft. For our 10th anniversary, he opens the doors to Aiwan-E-Ahmad, his ancestral home in Lucknow that, ever so private, has also played host to luminaries from history.
