Zineb takes its inspiration from the art of the nomadic African Berbers. The lines, dots and simple geometric shapes of the tattoos and artworks of the tribe symbolise elements from nature and reflect life and its forces. Motifs in the collection draw from such traditional Berber symbols like snakes, birds and moon, and are embroidered or printed using techniques like bandhani and block printing. The colour palette – in deep madder, indigo, charcoal, dull whites and tan –borrows generously from the traditional costumes of the Berbers juxtaposed with the sandy terrains around them. With easy silhouettes crafted in matka cotton, Chanderi and cotton, the range speaks to your inner free spirit.
